When I woke up this morning I realized that we live in this
place where you pay or beg people to like you, where love and marriage are
businesslike relationships, where you get killed just because you blinked in
the wrong direction, where everything and everyone is replaceable, where no one
cares whether you live or die. If hell has a description this is it. There’s no
use to struggle to change things; you’ll get nowhere. You just blend in and
hope that someday someone will make the trees work again.
